4. Alaska And Hawaii Have Higher Limits

Because living costs are higher, Alaska and Hawaii have their own poverty guidelines, which means higher Lifeline limits. In 2026, a single person in Alaska qualifies with income up to $26,933 a year, and a family of four with up to $55,688.
In Hawaii, the 2026 limit is $24,786 a year for one person and $51,233 for a family of four. Each additional person adds $9,585 in Alaska and $8,816 in Hawaii.
